How To Implement Html.fromhtml With Imagegetter In Android

You have an Android App that just fetched HTML content from the web to be displayed on a TextView. The first thing we do is to use Html.fromHtml() method; however, you soon realize that this method replaces all images with generic placeholders (besides not supporting all HTML tags). The good news is that this method does support ways of handling images (and other tags but this tutorial is just for images).
Implementing a ImageGetter is straight and simple; you pass an ImageGetter object to be use to fetch the images that later will be use to fill the placeholders. In order to fetch the images the ImageGetter object must implement the getDrawable method. The getDrawable method must return the Drawable object that will fill the placeholder; but, if null is returned the generic image placeholder will be used instead (see implementation below).

String s = Html.fromHtml(htmlContent, new ImageGetter() {
public Drawable getDrawable(String source)
return null;

Implementing a ImageGetter is straight and simple; you pass an ImageGetter object to be use to fetch the images. The way you fetch the images will vary depending on your application needs; so for this example I will fetch the images directly to an InputStream object (sometimes the best way could be saving them to a folder in the SD card).

Hardware RAID and Software RAID

Distribution of data across multiple drives can be achieved by managing dedicated software or by hardware. RAID configuration can be done by using two different methods, hardware RAID and software RAID.

Both are two different methods of managing disks and improving the capacity and performance of hard disk drives.

Hardware RAID
A RAID can be described to be a hardware RAID when it gets implemented on hardware. This can be done on a motherboard or on another RAID card. The Windows takes the entire RAID to be one single disk. RAID controller controls the individual components of the disk and cannot be accessed directly by the Windows. RAID levels are generally implemented on the hardware based solutions. There are currently 7 major RAID levels, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 2, RAID 3, RAID 4, RAID 5 and RAID 6. The RAID which is hardware based provides disk drive protection against loss of data in media failure and it also improves performance of write/read operations. This dramatically increases the data transfer rates of the storage media. The performance with the hardware RAID depends on the configuration of the RAID. Hardware RAID gives an advantage of replacing the hard drive without shutting down the computer. The main disadvantage of hardware RAID is that it is more expensive and you may be confined to a single vendor. Hardware RAID has more fault tolerance compared to software RAID.

Everything you wanted to know about Air Knives

Air knife is one tool of technology that is being constantly developed by scientists for greater efficiency and eco-friendliness. These air knives are used to convey compressed air for most of the large drying; cleaning as well as cooling applications. As mentioned earlier, these are being used extensively in all industries and hence it is necessary that they are made eco friendly for maximum results and optimal loss to the environment.
How Does an Air Knife operate?
The air knife usually operates by entraining the adjacent air as well as the compressed air using the “coanda” effect. It then essentially converts the energy which would normally be lost as noise and pressure drop into a laminar (uniform) sheet of air that is projected along the entire length of the knife to provide an air flow that covers the entire surface of the product.
Classification of Air Knives
Air knives have been classified into two types based on their performance viz; The Regular and Advanced. While the former provides good performance with a 30:1 air amplification ratio, the latter provides the best performance with a 40:1 air amplification ratio. Hence the advanced form is more efficient than the regular one. The air consumption for regular air knife is ~3.4 SCFM per inch at 80 PSIG and that of the advanced version is ~2.9 SCFM per inch at 80 PSIG. The regular version is a good option when a less expensive alternative is required. However, it is louder and uses more compressed air than the advanced edition. The advanced version is the best choice due to very low noise levels and using less air than the regular one at same pressure.

The Vortex Tube too has been used effectively as a low cost solution to fulfill the needs of varied industrial spot cooling and process cooling.
